Construction Update!
Grey Lynn Duo: Roofing, Waterproofing and Preparing for Lock-Up
Grey Lynn Duo has moved through a series of important weather-tightness milestones. The project has shifted from exposed framing to a more defined architectural form, with the first roofs installed, parapets built up, waterproofing underway, and drainage infrastructure now established behind retaining walls.
Each of these steps brings the project closer to lock-up and strengthens the overall durability and performance of the development.
Roofing Takes Shape
The most visible change on site is the installation of the first roofing sheets. With the hipped roofs now in place, the geometry of the homes is becoming more legible from every angle. The new rooflines anchor the forms within the established Grey Lynn streetscape, balancing contemporary massing with the pitched silhouettes characteristic of the neighbourhood.
The photos capture the roofing geometry clearly: crisp folded edges, accurate set-outs, and a clean junction to the parapets below. This stage marks the moment the buildings shift from skeletal timber frames to recognisable dwellings.
Looking Ahead
With roofing underway and waterproofing progressing, the development is entering a more protected phase that allows interior planning and service coordination to accelerate without weather delays.
Over the coming weeks we expect to focus on:
completing roofing across all units
finishing membrane works and parapet detailing
installing joinery to bring the site to full lock-up
beginning internal service rough-ins, insulation and first fix framing adjustments
continuing external boundary and access improvements
Grey Lynn Duo is transforming quickly now. As the envelope closes in, the architecture becomes more grounded in its context and more expressive of its final form. We look forward to sharing the next stage of progress as the development moves towards cladding, interiors and the more tactile architectural elements that will define its character.
