LIGHT & CADENCE
Conceptual Meaning
A study in rhythm and illumination — where the measured order of Grey Lynn’s built fabric meets the shifting quality of natural light. The project becomes a composition of repeated forms and softened edges, tuned to daylight and street rhythm rather than stylistic imitation.
Two dwellings sit within Grey Lynn’s historical grain, their forms aligned in cadence with the villas around them yet animated by light that tracks through verandahs, slatted facades, and garden thresholds. The architecture listens to its street — maintaining rhythm, depth, and proportion — while celebrating the fluid presence of daylight as the true ornament of domestic life.
